CBF officializes the application for the 2027 women’s world cup

    The City Hall of Rio de Janeiro, on January 31, through an Event, the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau (RCV), had already expressed to the CBF its willingness to host the 2027 World Cup, as one of the 73 events sports mapped for the city by 2030.

    And the City of São Paulo joined the carioca capital last Wednesday, March 1st, and also expressed the desire to host the event in 2027, including Neo Química Arena, Corinthians stadium, Allianz Parque, Palmeiras stadium and Morumbi, São Paulo’s stadium, mapped to host the Tournament games.

    According to information from FIFA, all Federations that express their desire to host the 2027 World Cup must send a letter to the main entity by the end of this month – the deadline established by the entity -, which will analyze all the Applications that are submitted and see if they meet the criteria established to receive the competition.

    In addition to Brazil, we have two more formalized candidacies: Germany, Holland and Belgium, which was the first official joint candidacy, and South Africa, through the Country Federation, SAFA.

    The announcement with the chosen Candidacy must be made by the first half of 2024, still without a defined date and place.
